But Abram replied, "O Sovereign LORD, what good are all your blessings when I don't even have a son?" -Genesis 15:2
When reading this I am amazed that Abram would say something so harsh to God. I think of how I am just a speck on the Earth and that saying something like that to God should give Him good enough reason to wipe me off it. These people that are in the early stages of the world had to have such deep relationships with God. Where did that go? I can also see it as Abram just venting out to God and what if God was just waiting for Abram to come talk to Him about it?

The Tower of Babel
6"Look!" he said. "If they can accomplish this when they have just begun to take advantage of their common language and political unity, just think of what they will do later. Nothing will be impossible for them! 7 Come, let's go down and give them different languages. Then they won't be able to understand each other." Genesis 11:6-7
Honestly when I first read this it sounded to me like God was worried about what we as a human race could accomplish. I kind of scared myself when that thought popped up. Is that an evil thought or is it a way to discover another area of our God? It almost sounds like it caught God by surprise. We are taught that God knows all and nothing catches Him by surprise. Where does this fit in to that? Does He look down at the world in disgust because of our selfishness and finally puts an end to the tower? I may be over doing it but don't you want to know more about this God that we serve? Could there be somthing here that we're overlooking? Maybe or maybe not but it's worth looking at. By the way I'll be posting pretty often here at the beginning of this because I'm trying to catch up to where I'm at now.

Giants
"In those days, and even afterward, giants lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with human women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes mentioned in legends of old." Genesis 6:4
Okay this is a little graphic but it is still very interesting to me. Who were these people? Is there more mentioned somewhere else? I wonder what the legends of old say. Does this still happen today?

Worship
"When Seth grew up, he had a son and named him Enosh. It was during his lifetime that people first began to worship the LORD." Genesis 4:26
Normally when I start to read the Bible from the beginning I get through the first few chapters and decide it's time for a nap. This time it's different. I don't know why but I can't seem to put it down. The things that stick out to me are what seem to be little things. These aren't the "great stories" of the Bible. They just make me desire a deeper relationship with God. I want to know more about Him. As I was reading I came across Genesis 4:26 and it stuck out to me that during Enosh's lifetime people began to worship the LORD. What were they doing before Enosh's lifetime? Was God just here on Earth walking around with us?
